Gi Coil Galvanized Steel
1. Product Definition – Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil (GI Coil)
GI Coil is produced by immersing cold rolled or hot rolled pickled steel coil into a molten zinc bath at approximately 450°C – 460°C. This process forms a metallurgically bonded zinc-iron alloy layer with a pure zinc outer layer, providing sacrificial corrosion protection – the zinc corrodes first, protecting the base steel even at scratches or cut edges.
Available surface finishes:
Regular spangle – visible crystal pattern for general use
Minimized spangle – fine, uniform pattern for painting
Zero spangle – dull matte finish for high-end coatings
Anti-fingerprint (AFP) – clear organic coating for appliances
